I finally got a wall-hanger after 30 years of hunting....My three sons and I hunt with a friend on his property. We always sit for the first 2 hours then chase. The first day of the 2003 season was very cold and windy in Pa. After 2 hours of watching we saw nothing. We regrouped and started our first chase..........nothing. The second chase was set up and I was one of the watchers. Two of my sons were chasing, the youngest was set up about 60 yards. from me. We got the ready signal on our radios and the chasers started. About 5 minutes went by and I could see deer angling their way up the mountain from the thick pines along the stream bed below. The first two were does. The third one had its head down and I almost went ahead a shot a doe since I had a doe license too. I figured with only one day to hunt I was going to put meat in the freezer. Man, am I glad I decided to wait for a good look at the third deer. As he came out from behind some trees he lifted his head. All I saw was large white antlers. He was angling toward me as I slowly raised my rifle. When he was about 30 yards. away he had no clue I was there. I placed the crosshairs at the base of his neck and squeezed the trigger. He dropped in his tracks. When the rest of the gang all got there they could not believe the size of this deer. Everyone was excited and enjoyed the satisfaction of being part of this trophy deer hunt. Chuck Gingrich
